The Inferno Peak is a 2,100 m high mountain peaks on the northern end of the Millen Range in the Victory Mountains of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 5 km north of Le Couteur Peak .
The southern group New Zealand Federated Mountain Clubs Antarctic Expedition (1962–1963) named it after the Italian term for hell . During geological investigations a contact layer between granite and greywacke with baked sedimentary rock was discovered, which indicates volcanic activity and gives the summit a reddish color.
