The department is located in the north of the country and borders Algeria and Mali . It extends over the area of ​​the rural community of the same name Ingall .

history

The department goes back to the administrative post ( poste administratif ) of Ingall, which was established in 1964. In 2011, the administrative post was removed from the Tchirozérine department and elevated to the Ingall department.

population

According to the 2012 census, the Ingall department has 51,903 inhabitants. From 2001 to 2012 the population increased by an average of 4.1% annually (nationwide: 3.9%).
