Inge Maria Grimm

Inge Maria Grimm-Hasslinger (born September 3, 1921 in Krems an der Donau ; † Christmas 2018 in Vienna ) was an Austrian radio play and youth literature writer as well as radio editor and spokeswoman. She wrote over 50 children's books in which she mostly combined fairytale-like elements with references to the present.

Life

Grimm, granddaughter of Lieutenant Field Marshal Josef Grimm von Hainfels (* 1853 in Asch, † 1946 in Sonderhausen near Erfurt as a result of an accident) and niece of the painter Josef Hauptmann , grew up in Prague , where she graduated from high school, studied at the University Institute for Music and the Performing Arts and put on take the stage entrance exam. As a displaced person , she came to Krems in 1945, where she lived until 1956. In 1957 she worked for RAVAG and in 1958 for ORF , to which she belonged until 1984.

In 2009 she received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon of the FRG.
