Ingeburg von Oldenburg († January 31, 1407 ) was abbess in Freckenhorst Abbey .

Life

Origin and family

Ingeburg von Oldenburg grew up as the daughter of Konrad von Oldenburg and his wife Kunigunde von Diepholz together with their siblings Johan and Mauritz. The latter was married to Elisabeth von Braunschweig. Their children were Johann, Anna (married to Otto von Waldeck) and Ingeburg (married to Okko ten Brock).

Career and work

After the death of her predecessor Mechthild von dem Berge , Ingeburg was elected abbess in autumn 1383. The most important event in her term of office was the contract of October 28, 1400 between Bishop Otto and Count Nikolaus von Tecklenburg , which regulated the extent of the rights of the noble bailiwick over goods and personnel of the Freckenhorst monastery. Ingeburg remained in office until her death. Her successor was Margaretha von Ahaus .
