Ingo Klöcker
Ingo Klöcker (born October 25, 1937 in Stuttgart ) is a German engineer , product designer , artist and university professor.
Life
Klöcker's father was an arts and crafts teacher in Cologne , later an advertising consultant and finally editor of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. After graduating from high school in 1957, Ingo Klöcker studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University .
After completing his diploma thesis, which Klöcker did in the press shop at Daimler-Benz in Sindelfingen in the field of non-cutting forming technology, he studied product design at the Ulm School of Design from 1961 to 1962 under Thomas Maldonado, Hans Gugelot , and Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart and Otl Aicher and got to know Josef Albers and Max Bill , among others . In 1970 he studied figurative painting under Rudolf Szyszkowitz at the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts in Salzburg .
Professional background
Klöcker began his professional career as a designer of household machines at Braun in Frankfurt am Main . This was followed by activities as a constructor and designer at Audi , Rheinstahl and Vorwerk . At Vorwerk, he took over the management of the research and development department in 1975 and, as managing director, the overall technical management of Uvex in 1980 . From 1983 to 2002, Klöcker was a full-time professor for construction theory, materials technology, industrial design and representation techniques for precision engineers at the Georg-Simon-Ohm University in Nuremberg . Since 2003 he has been a visiting professor with the same area of responsibility.
In 1979 he was appointed honorary professor at the Technical University of Braunschweig , and in 1980 he received his doctorate in engineering. at the University of Hanover and in 1982 he was appointed full professor at the Georg-Simon-Ohm University in Nuremberg , where he was professor for construction, materials, and industrial design for more than 28 years.
Klöcker has also worked as a painter and sculptor since 1983 and as a writer since 2008. His sculpture Der Läufer is located on the premises of the Ohm University on Wollentorstrasse in Nuremberg.
Honors
- 1985 Honorary plaque of the VDI for the management of the committee (chairman) Industrial Design, the development of the guidelines VDI 2424 sheets 1 to 3 and committee member for the guidelines VDI 2221, 2222 and 2224 (methodology)
- 1992 First prize from the Rupert Gabler Foundation for the "Promotion of Art, Culture and Science" in Obergünzburg
