Ingo Springenschmid (born September 22, 1942 in Salzburg ; † October 30, 2016 in Bregenz ) was an Austrian artist in the field of visual arts and literature.

Life

Springenschmid studied from 1959 to 1964 at the Art School of the City of Linz and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . From 1967 to 1970 he worked as an employee and assistant at the graphic experimental workshop and at the Salzburg Summer Academy (lithography). Since the 1970s he lived in Vorarlberg , where he taught as an art teacher at the Bundesgymnasium and Bundesrealgymnasium Bludenz until 2000.

From 1989 to 2001 and from 2003 to 2005 he headed the Galerie allerArt in Bludenz , which he was also instrumental in founding.

Springenschmid was a board member of the Vorarlberg Professional Association of Visual Artists.

Springenschmid mainly worked at the interface between fine arts and literature by visualizing texts and adding text to images. He also wrote numerous essays and works on art theory. His works have been shown in numerous exhibitions in Vorarlberg, Salzburg, Vienna, Basel, St. Gallen, Düsseldorf and New Orleans.
