Ingrīda Barkāne
Ingrīda Barkāne (born Verbele ; born January 18, 1948 in Liepāja ) is a former Latvian sprinter and hurdler who started for the Soviet Union .
At the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 , she reached the semi-finals over 400 m .
In 1974 she retired from the European Athletics Championships in Rome over 400 m in the semifinals and won bronze in the 4 x 400 meter relay with the Soviet team. The following year gold followed in the 4-by-320-meter relay at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1975 in Katowice.
At the 1978 European Championship in Prague, she was seventh in the 400-meter hurdles .
