Ingrid Hasselblatt-Diedrich

Ingrid Hasselblatt-Diedrich (born August 17, 1940 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German surgeon and medical professional politician.

Life

Ingrid Hasselblatt was born in Frankfurt / Main in 1940 as the daughter of Elisabeth and Ottomar Hasselblatt. After graduating from the Schiller-Gymnasium in Frankfurt / Main in 1960, she studied in Frankfurt / Main and Munich, initially in parallel music and medicine. Due to the inadmissibility of parallel studies, she continued her studies in human medicine at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt / Main, which she completed with the state examination in 1967. In 1968 she was awarded a doctorate with her dissertation on the topic: "Successful operations for double deformities" med. PhD. She received her license to practice medicine in 1969. She then did her advanced training in surgery in the surgical department at the Bürgerhospital in Frankfurt / Main. In 1974 Ingrid Hasselblatt-Diedrich was recognized as a specialist in surgery, and in 1983 she was appointed senior surgeon there. From 1987 until her retirement in 2001, Ingrid Hasselblatt was chief physician in the surgical department of the Sachsenhausen hospital in Frankfurt. From 1980 to 2000 Ingrid Hasselblatt-Diedrich was a member of the Presidium of the State Medical Association of Hesse , the federal board of the Hartmannbund from 1974 to 1997. As part of her professional activities, she has particularly campaigned for the improvement of professional conditions and advancement opportunities for women in the medical profession.
