Ingrid Heggø (born August 12, 1961 in Høyanger ) is a Norwegian politician of the Social Democratic Workers' Party (Ap). She has been a member of the Storting since 2005 .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1980, Heggø studied banking and business administration at Handelshøyskolen BI . From 1981, she also held various positions at various banks. From 2001 to 2005 she worked as the provincial secretary of the Arbeiderpartiet. Heggø was also active in local politics and was a member of the local parliament of Høyanger Municipality from 1991 to 2003 , of which she was Deputy Mayor from 1995.

Heggø moved into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2005 general election . There she represents the constituency of Sogn og Fjordane and she was initially a member of the Justice Committee. After the 2009 election , she moved to the Economic Committee, where she stayed after the 2013 election . Following the 2017 parliamentary elections , she was transferred to the Finance Committee. From October 2010 to September 2013, Heggø was also a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee.

In May 2020, she declared that she did not want to run for a seat in parliament again in the 2021 Storting election.
