Ingrid Langer

Ingrid Langer , also Ingrid Langer-El Sayed , (born November 13, 1935 , † January 8, 2012 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German political scientist .

Life

Langer completed a broad-based degree in political science, sociology, philosophy, chemistry and biology in 1968 with a doctorate under Eugen Kogon . Langer was a professor at the Institute for Political Science at the Philipps University of Marburg from 1974 to 2001 , and from 1993 to 1997 she was vice-president of the university. Langer's academic focus was on parliamentarianism research, family and social policy, and media research. She was a pioneer in women's research, was involved in gender equality policy and was chairwoman of the "Standing Committee for Questions on the Advancement of Women" of the German Association for Political Science (DVPW) for many years . 2001-2004 she was chairwoman of Pro Familia .

Ingrid Langer died on January 8, 2012 at the age of 76.
