Ingrid Muth

Ingrid Muth (* 1939 ) is a German journalist and author as well as a former diplomat of the GDR .

Life

Muth studied journalism in Leipzig and cultural studies in Berlin . She completed her studies as a journalist and cultural scientist. From 1962 to 1965 she worked as an editor for the district newspaper in Ückermünde . From 1965 to 1972 Muth was a press officer at the chairman of the Council of Ministers in Berlin.

From 1972 she worked as an employee in the main press department at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the GDR (MfAA). Between 1976 and 1979 she acted as Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of the GDR in Bonn . From 1982 to 1990 she was - with the rank of embassy counselor - deputy head of the foreign information department at the MfAA.

From 1991 to 1993 she worked as a research assistant at the Eastern Europe Advisory and Information Service in Berlin and from 1994 to 1998 as a research assistant at the Association for International Politics and International Law eV (VIP) in Berlin.

Muth is the author and editor of several books on the foreign policy of the GDR.
