Ingrid Schramm (Ingrid Nagl-Schramm; born May 20, 1956 in Vienna ) is an Austrian writer.

Life

Ingrid Schramm grew up in Vienna and attended grammar school in Haizingergasse in Vienna-Währing, the director of which Minna Lachs was formative in her life. Her encouragement that anyone could achieve his goal in life if he only really wanted to became a guiding principle for her. After graduating from a Döblingen monastery school, Ingrid Schramm lived in Paris for a year. After her return she studied graphics at the Academy of Applied Arts. Several years later she took lessons in oil painting from the Polish painter Marek Kubski .

In 1976 she enrolled at the University of Vienna . She first studied law, then theater studies and completed this subject in 1985 with a doctorate. During her studies, she started working as a music critic for the “Börsen-Kurier” and switched to finance after the culture page was closed. She worked as an editor for "Kurier", "The whole week" and on ORF television. Since 1992 she has been working as a research assistant in the Austrian Literature Archive of the Austrian National Library .

On June 21, 2017, she was awarded the title of Professor in the Palais Niederösterreich . This title was awarded to Ingrid Schramm for her many years of academic work in the Austrian National Library and her commitment as an author and artist.

She has been with Brigadier i. R. Alfred Nagl married, master of ceremonies at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 and 1976.

Schramm is a member of the Austrian PEN Club, IG Authors and the Murderous Sisters . Ingrid Schramm was awarded the title of Professor by the Federal President in 2016.
