Ingrid Uebe

Ingrid Uebe (born October 7, 1932 in Essen ; † March 3, 2018 in Brühl ) was a German writer.

Life

Ingrid Uebe grew up in Essen. She attended school up to high school and then a one-year commercial college . For a short time she worked as a secretary in a newspaper editorial office, after which she completed a traineeship in the editorial office of the Neue Ruhr-Zeitung in Essen and worked for the cultural department of this newspaper for six years. After the birth of her daughter, she worked as a freelance journalist for various newspapers, magazines and radio stations; afterwards she was responsible for the public relations of a further education institution. Since 1982 she has lived as a freelance writer in Cologne .

Ingrid Uebe was the author of books for children and young people , including numerous picture books. Her works have been translated into numerous languages. The author was a member of the Association of German Writers and the Friedrich Bödecker Circle .

Uebe died in 2018 at the age of 85 and was buried in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne .
