Nortrud Boge-Erli
Nortrud Boge-Erli (born Nortrud Marianne Erli on November 26, 1943 in Pécs , Hungary ) is a German author for children and young people .
Life
Nortrud Boge-Erli was born in Hungary as the daughter of the senior teacher Josef Erli and his wife Marianne (née von Ondreykowicz). Her father did not get to know his daughter until he was a toddler after he returned from the war and was a prisoner of war.
She passed her Abitur in Ravensburg in 1963 and then studied pedagogy , German and art history in Weingarten , Tübingen , Hamburg and Bonn . She married the theologian Dieter Boge in 1969 and taught temporarily at the GGS Ründeroth . The couple moved to Duisburg in 1972 . During this time, Boge-Erli volunteered to work with children and young people in the Protestant parish , and at the same time gathered inspiration for her books. The marriage had five children. The first two children, Daniel and Niklas, died in a tragic gas accident on New Year's Eve 1978/79. The then youngest son Chris was the only one to survive. The two youngest children, Nikola and Florian, were born in 1980 and 1985. The marriage ended in divorce in 2001. Nortrud Boge-Erli now lives with her partner in Mettmann near Düsseldorf .

Nortrud Boge-Erli's publications cover a wide range of topics. However, recurring aspects are, on the one hand, socially critical issues; on the other hand, Boge-Erli has published several fantasy , vampire and crime novels . The early novels of the 1970s and 80s often deal with life-philosophy , religious and emancipatory issues. In later novels, the difficulties of interpersonal relationships become thematically more dominant. Most of the stories are inspired by real events.
For her research, Boge-Erli often travels to examine the locations of the stories. In 2005 she received a travel grant from the Foreign Office for her research trip to Romania to work on the novel Vampirfieber . The children's books by Boge-Erli often have a fabulous character and educational claim, such as the children's novel Emil Reiseschwein (Nagel and Kimche). In the stories, however, there is always a genuine animal welfare issue. In collaboration with the concert pianist and music teacher Dorothée Kreusch-Jacob, with whom she has been friends since childhood, Boge-Erli has published several texts on children's songs, most of which have also been released on recordings (e.g. Max Krachmach or Der Bärendoktor ).
Boge-Erli is particularly known for her author readings at schools and in public libraries, which she now holds together with her eldest living son, Chris Boge. Your youth novels are often used as class reading across subjects in German, religion and ethics lessons. Several children's stories created in collaboration with Chris Boge have also been published as audio books. One of her books ( Sehnsucht nach Winnie ) was also created in collaboration with the then 14-year-old daughter (Nikola Zieren, née Boge). Various novels have been translated into several languages, e.g. B. Chinese, Danish, Spanish and Dutch.
