John Ingvar Sandström (born September 3, 1942 in Lycksele ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier .

Sandström, who started for Lycksele IF , won tenth place over 15 km and fourth place over 30 km and with the relay at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1966 . In the same year he came in the Svenska Skidspelen in third place with the relay and in 1967 and 1969 in each case on the second place with the relay. In his only Olympic participation in February 1968 in Grenoble , he ran in 21st place over 30 km. The following year he became the Swedish 15 km champion and in 1970 he came second at the Svenska Skidspelen in Falun . He had his greatest international success at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970 in Vysoké Tatry . There he won the bronze medal with the relay.
