Inkofen is a parish village in the Schierling market in the Regensburg district in Bavaria. Inkofen was the seat of the municipality of the same name until 1978 .

Parish Church of St. James the Elder

history

The place Immekoven is mentioned in the first Bavarian Duke Surbar (1229/1237) . Inkofen Castle is first mentioned in 1365 as owned by Ulrich von Abensberg . In any case, Inkofen Castle is a former Imperial Palace . The Catholic parish church of St. James the Elder was built in 1719-23 in place of the old castle church. The community Inkofen came into being with the Bavarian community edict of 1818. On May 1, 1978 Inkofen was incorporated into Schierling .
