Innocenz Müller

Innocenz Müller (born May 1, 1675 in Glarus as Franz Müller ; † April 1, 1727 in Alt St. Johann ) was briefly librarian at the St. Gallen monastery from 1710 to 1711 .

Father Innocenz (or Innocentius) was the son of Säckelmeister Kaspar Müller von Glarus and Susanna Lütschgenmann von Kaltbrunn . After attending the monastery school in Einsiedeln , he is attested in 1686 in the monastery of St. Gallen, where he made his profession on July 22, 1692 . In 1697 he became a subdeacon , in 1698 a deacon . He was ordained a priest on December 19, 1699, the primacy followed on January 1, 1700.

On April 13, 1700, Father Innocenz was appointed professor of theology in the monastery of St. Gallen, and on October 3, 1707, he was appointed professor of canon law . This was followed by monastic office activities, such as those as sub-official and sub-cellar in 1706 . In 1707 he switched to Pfäfers monastery as a teacher . In 1710 he returned to St. Gallen, where he worked for a short time as librarian, fiefdom and sub-official. On March 5, 1711 he was sent to St. Johann . In 1718 he was attested as an official, from 1722 to 1727 as dean of the monastery in St. Gallen. He then moved back to St. Johann, where he died on April 1, 1727 as a result of a stroke.
