Kaltbrunn is a municipality in the canton of St. Gallen . It is in the See-Gaster constituency .

Kaltbrunn is located east of Uznach , north of Benken , west of Schänis and south of Gommiswald .
The south portal of the Rickentunnel is in Kaltbrunn . The Rickenpass leads to Wattwil in Toggenburg .
history
The origin of the name Kaltbrunn cannot be precisely determined. In early historical records the settlement is called "Chaldebrunna". From the 13th century "Chaltbrunnen" is written in documents. The now valid spelling "Kaltbrunn" can be traced back to the year 1857.
The city's motto is “ä gsundi Gmeind!” (“A healthy community”).

Attractions
Its most important sights are the parish church of St. Georg (from the XIXth century ), the castle ruins of Bibiton ( XIIIth century ) and the Brother Klausen Chapel in Altwies, consecrated in 1991, with a view over the Lin Plain and the Obersee .
In the Kaltbrunner Ried there are two observation towers, a large and a small one (see the article Kaltbrunner Ried observation tower (small) and Kaltbrunner Ried observation tower (large) ).
Events
The Swiss high-power rocket association Advanced Rocketry Group of Switzerland regularly organizes flight days with high-power rockets near Kaltbrunn.
