The Innovation Group is a service provider active in 13 countries for insurance companies and for fleet management in the field of vehicle damage service, IT solutions and software . The group is headquartered in Whiteley near Fareham in the south of England . The company has been owned by the Carlyle Group since November 2015 .

The company, which was previously listed on the London Stock Exchange, is active in 13 countries in North America , Europe , Asia , South Africa and Australia and in 2015 employed around 3,000 people.

history

The company was founded in 1996 in Great Britain under the name "Merlinace" and renamed the Innovation Group in 1999. In 2000, Motorcare Service GmbH, founded in Stuttgart in 1996, was taken over. With the acquisition of the US company "Pyramid", Innovation Group expanded into the North American market for the first time. In the same year, the companies MTW, HUON, New Planet Solutions and 50% eQuals Group (SA) were taken over. At the end of 2001, the Innovation Group employed over 1000 people and was active in Australia, Japan , the USA , Germany and South Africa. With the integration of the damage manager Nobilas, which specializes in fleets, Innovation Group also opened up the markets in France , Spain , Belgium , the Netherlands , Luxembourg , Austria and Switzerland in 2008 . The youngest member of the group is Wintec AG , an auto glass franchise system , which was taken over in early 2011 .

Activity in Germany

In Germany , the focus of the Innovation Group's activities is on the management of vehicle repairs for insurance customers and the processing of vehicle damage for fleets. For this purpose, the company cooperates with around 3,000 service partners. The German subsidiary is based in Stuttgart .

Parallel to the establishment of Motorcare-Service GmbH in Stuttgart in 1996, Motorcare was reported by various lawyers to the Cologne Cartel Office. The Cartel Office determined that the contracts between Motorcare and around 130 partner workshops violated applicable law and were therefore ineffective. The contracts were subsequently improved by Motorcare.
