Known as the guitarist of the rock band Luna Sea , was he also a member of the bands Fake? and tourbillon .

biography

Inoran was born in Kanagawa in 1970 and has two younger brothers. The name Inoran was given to the musician at school when he was told by a fan while playing baseball with the words “Ino! Run !! ”was cheered on. At the age of 16 Inoran became a huge fan of Cipher, the guitarist for the band D'erlanger . That was a reason for him to want to become a musician.

Luna Sea

In 1989 Inoran founded the band Lunacy with his school friend J , which soon after became Luna Sea . The then unconventional band with a visual kei look had difficulties getting a record deal. It was only with the help of X Japan drummer Yoshiki that they made the leap into the music world and established themselves as a successful rock band. In 1997 the band took a break, so that all members, including Inoran, devoted themselves to solo careers. In 1998 the band returned visibly more mature and presented a more poppy style than before. Except for Sugizo , the band members had largely abandoned their visual look. In 2000 the band released their last album for the time being, which marked the beginning of the band break until 2007.

After being announced after a seven-year hiatus on the day of a lunar eclipse, the band gave a sold-out concert in the Tokyo Dome on December 24, 2007 in front of 55,000 visitors. They also headlined X Japan at the Hide Memorial Summit on May 5th, 2008. The resumption of the band activities took place in the form of several concerts outside of Asia. Her world tour in 2010 brought her to Bochum, her only concert in Europe.

Solo career

Inoran's first project without Luna Sea resulted in the formation of the group M * A * S * S with bandmate J and hide from X Japan. However, they only released one song, Frozen Bug , on the sampler Dance 2 Noise 004 . The song was later released by hide on his solo album Hide Your Face . When Luna Sea took a break in 1997, the way was clear for further solo projects and Inoran released his debut album Sou in the fall . It stayed that way until the temporary dissolution of Luna Sea in 2000 paved the way for further activities: Inoran founded his official fan club NO NAME? and released the single Won't Leave My Mind? which was also included in the album fragment . This was followed by a small solo tour “The Last Night” with two concerts in the Akasaka Blitz. This was followed by shows for his fan club in 2002, before he was back as a guitarist in the bands Fake? and tourbillon .

Inoran's third solo album, photograph , was released in September 2006. Inoran's 10th anniversary year, Inoran Tourbillon took a break and released his fourth solo album, Niraikanai . There was a tour, which was later released on DVD, and a best of album, the songs of which had been selected by Inoran and his fan club.

In 2008 the musician summed up his life in the biography Monophonic . He also made the leap abroad that same year, touring Taiwan and South Korea for The Formoz Festival 2008 and the Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival 2008 . The fifth studio album Apocalypse followed, and the Butterfly Effect tour brought Inoran to Hong Kong in November. Inoran delivered a new experiment to fans with the instrumental mini-album Shadow for Christmas 2008, which also contains the title track for the film A Symmetry .

It only continued in 2010. WaterColor came on the market, an album that, according to the tour DVD, is thematically dedicated to the connection between water and music. On the album Inoran's voice can be heard undistorted in contrast to previous albums. After the earthquake in Haiti in 2010 , inoran also became active in charity and wrote the song Love For… together with ORANGE RANGE singer Naoto .

In 2011, Inoran followed up with Teardrop , which was released in March 2011. Due to the tsunami in northern Japan , the accompanying tour led the singer u. a. in the affected Sendai . In October the musician released the single Hide and Seek , which he wrote with Taka Hirose from the British band Feeder .

Another tour is planned for 2012.

Fake?

During Luna Sea's break , Inoran formed the band Fake? together with Ken Lloyd (previously with Oblivion Dust ). After he originally stated on Fake? wanting to stay, he announced his departure on August 8, 2005. Musical differences were given as the reason.

Tourbillon

In 2005 inoran founded Tourbillon together with Luna Sea bank colleagues J and Ryuichi as well as Hiroki Hayama, why he founded Fake? left. Tourbillon's music is far more pop than Luna Sea's.
