Feeder is a British rock band from Chepstow , Wales .
history
Feeder was founded in 1992 in London by Welsh singer Grant Nicholas, Japanese bassist Taka Hirose and drummer Jon Lee.
After the two EPs Two Colors and Swim , which were released in 1995 and 1996, Feeder released their first album Polythene the following year . The next two albums, Yesterday Went Too Soon and Echo Park , which were released in 1999 and 2001, landed in the UK charts in single digits. The singles , especially Buck Rogers from the album Echo Park , were also successful. Both Seven Days in the Sun and Buck Rogers were often played on the radio in the UK, the latter also appeared in the soundtrack of the film Behind Enemy Lines - alone against all ( Behind Enemy Lines ). Both titles can also be heard in the European version of the PlayStation 2 game Gran Turismo 3 - A-Spec ; A special mix of Just a Day serves as background music for the intro . In the successor Gran Turismo 4 , the Shatter, which can also be heard in the movie Watchers of the Night, is included on the release date . The song Sweet 16 from the EP Swim could already be heard on the first version of the PlayStation 1 game Gran Turismo .
In January 2002 Jon Lee was replaced after his suicide by the English drummer Mark Richardson , who was originally the drummer of Skunk Anansie until their breakup. The album Comfort in Sound , released in October 2002, was still made with the participation of Jon Lee. The album seems full of sadness, the death of the former band member lies like a dark cloud over every anthemic part of the melancholy songs. Nevertheless, the album also exudes hope and confidence.
Feeder's next album Picture of Perfect Youth was a collection of 36 B-sides, including the song Just a Day , which was sold as a standalone single, but was only available as a B-side before. This album was initially only available in limited numbers on the band's website. A re-release has been available in stores since 2007.
Their fifth album Pushing the Senses was released in 2005 after a long break, followed by the album Silent Cry in 2008.
On May 6, 2009 it was announced that Mark Richardson had left the band to join the reunited Skunk Anansie . With the drummer Karl Brazil, the side project Renegades was founded in December 2009 , which has so far released two EPs.
The seventh feeder studio album Renegades has been on store shelves since July 5, 2010 , which was created with the drummer Karl Brazil, among others.
In spring 2012, the band released their eighth studio album Generation Freakshow with the same line-up , the first single Borders of which had been available since January.
After four years of silence, the band's ninth album, All Bright Electric , was released on October 7, 2016 .
