Inoue Hisashi
Inoue Hisashi ( Japanese 井上 ひ さ し , actually 井上 廈 ; born November 16, 1934 in Kawanishi ; † April 9, 2010 ) was a Japanese writer who published novels, dramas and comic fiction.
Life
Inoue was born in the small town of Kawanishi, Yamagata Prefecture. When he was four years old, his father died and he was sent to a Christian Baptist school. He graduated from Sophia University .
Inoue's career began on the radio and in 1969 he wrote his first play Nihonjin no Heso . In 1982 he received the Seiun Prize for Kirikiri-Jin as the best novel and in 1991 the Tanizaki Jun'ichirō Prize for Shanghai Moon ( シ ャ ン ハ イ ム ー ン , Shanhai Mūn ).
From 2003 to 2007 he was the President of the Japanese PEN Center .
In October 2009, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Despite medical treatment, Inoue passed away on April 9, 2010 at the age of 75.
