The Institute for Public Policy (Engl. Public Policy Institute) has a regional think tank organization. It operates in the Western Balkans region through its offices in Belgrade , Podgorica and Ljubljana .

history

The Public Policy Institute was founded on February 1st, 2013 in Podgorica . The Belgrade office started work on December 6, 2013 and the Ljubljana office on June 30, 2014. The founders of the institute are professors at the University of Belgrade , Mijat Damjanović, Nikola Samardzić and Stevan Lilić, the Slovenian journalist Vanja Vardjan and the former head of the Office for Communication of the Republic of Serbia , Vladimir Beba Popović , who is also the director of the institute .

The Institute for Public Politics was born out of the need for clear and professional support for the post-Yugoslav institution building, the development of public political discourse and for cultural cooperation based on bourgeois individualism.

The Institute for Public Policy was founded with the intention of guiding the active and committed action of experts from all parts of the Western Balkans who have several decades of experience in the following areas: professionalization of the media, shaping the political agenda, European and transatlantic challenges , Security, human and minority rights, state administration, diplomacy, civil society, science and politics. The aim of the institute is the formulation of a new national, regional and international policy of the post-Yugoslav area through synergies of knowledge and points of view of experienced experts and public activists. By promoting public dialogue and constructive solutions, the Institute for Public Policy supports the efforts of the countries of the Western Balkans to become equal, reliable and progressive partners in European integrations and mutual relations. One of the priorities of the Institute for Public Policy is also a bundled engagement of civil assessment in important reform processes that the states of the Western Balkans are carrying out, such as membership in the EU and NATO .

After initial research and analysis of the social and media context in the countries of the Western Balkans, the institute has developed and implemented a number of projects, including:
