The Institute for Entrepreneurship (IFE) of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences is a regional, national and international research, consulting, training and further education institution.

focus

The focus of the research work is on the topics of business start-ups in Germany and other European countries, start-up skills and issues relating to advising small and medium-sized companies and start-ups. One focus is the further development of curricula for entrepreneur training at the FH Frankfurt am Main ( MBA Entrepreneurship & Business Development, FIBAA -accredited 2010).

Further focal points are the further training and advice of founders from the different home countries of the students of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences ( Turkey , Morocco , Russia ) as well as the support of foreign universities in the development of entrepreneurship (especially in Romania ). The technical focal points of the start-up support include a. Logistics , IT and media, real estate and finance, eco-entrepreneurship , social entrepreneurship , healthcare, and food production and sales.

history

Based on the EXist project Route A 66, the institute was established in 2005 as an institute of the then Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in Faculty 3: Economics and Law. It has no legal capacity of its own. In recent years, several cooperation projects have been implemented with European universities, for example with universities in Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, France, Morocco and Russia. The IFE start-up award for members and graduates of the university was first awarded in 2014 and will be awarded every two years in future.

structure

The institute bundles the activities of several university professors and supports the founding of students and graduates of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences u. a. as part of the MBA program. The initiator of the establishment of the institute was Hans-Jürgen Weißbach . Cord Siemon has been Managing Director since 2016 , Tobias Hagen is his deputy . The institute is financed from university funds, project funds and sponsorship contributions. At times, an incubator ( main incubator ) with 4–5 places and a total of around 35 spin-offs was connected.

The institute is a member of Erenet , the Entrepreneurship Research and Education Network of Central European Universities .
