Hans-Jürgen Weißbach

Hans-Jürgen Weißbach (born March 29, 1950 in Cuxhaven - Lüdingworth ) is a German sociologist . His work focuses on innovation management , entrepreneurship and scientific training.

Life

Weißbach attended the Gerhard-Rohlfs-Gymnasium in Bremen - Vegesack and studied sociology at the Free University of Berlin . After graduating in 1974, he worked there as a research assistant with a focus on labor market and industrial sociology . In 1980 he moved to the Dortmund Social Research Center . Since 1985 he has worked as an industrial and start-up consultant. In 1989 he was at the University of Dortmund Dr. rer. pole. PhD and carried out research projects on the risks of networked technologies. In 1990 he founded with Thomas Malsch u. a. the IUK Institute for Social Science Technology Research in Dortmund , of which he was managing director until 1996.

From 1995 to 2014 he was Professor of Technology Assessment and Innovation Management at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences , where he most recently worked in the Faculty of Business and Law with a focus on business start-ups.

Focus of work

In 1999, Weißbach received the innovation award from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences for establishing the start-up training . There he initiated the establishment of the Institute for Entrepreneurship in 2005 , of which he was managing director until 2012. In 2011 he founded the part-time MBA program Entrepreneurship & Business Development at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.

In cooperation with the IWH - Institute for Economic Research Halle , he prepared the IUK Institute's report on the socio-economic consequences of hosting the Olympic Games in 2012 for the city and IHK Leipzig , the methodology of which was also adopted by other cities and other major events. On the occasion of the Hartz reforms in 2005, he adapted the internationally certified advanced training course to become a Global Career Development Facilitator for career counselors and in 2009 together with Barbara Weißbach to become a Mental Health Facilitator for German universities and public employers.
