The Institute for Transportation Design (ITD) is an institute of the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts (HBK).
history
The Institute for Transportation Design was founded in June 2007 by Stephan Rammler . It is based on the ARTmax site of the former Braunschweiger Blechwarenfabrik. The institute, which consists of fourteen scientists, deals with the post-fossil future of mobility . Michael Grasshoff is the managing director. The facility emerged from the research focus Transportation Design & Social Sciences, which has existed at the Braunschweig University of Art since 2002 .
Research and Teaching
The transdisciplinary scientists from the social sciences , psychology , engineering and design deal with the research and design of sustainable mobility products, systems and services. Going beyond the pure product design , their individual and social acceptance is examined. The Institute for Transportation Design aims to combine classic transportation design with science.
The institute is a project partner of the electromobility showcase in the Hanover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg metropolitan region .
Since the summer semester 2010, the ITD has been able to complete a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Design / Transportation Design.
