Stephan Rammler (* 1968 ) is a German mobility and futurologist .

Life

Stephan Rammler is the founding director of the Institute for Transportation Design (ITD) and Professor for Transportation Design & Social Sciences at the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts . He works in mobility and future research, researches transport, energy and innovation policy, questions of cultural transformation and sustainable environmental and social policy. He is also developing a research focus on cultural transformation processes .

Rammler studied political science, sociology and economics in Marburg and Berlin and did his doctorate on the subject of mobility in modern times . After graduating, he worked in the mobility project group at the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB). In 2002 Rammler was appointed to Braunschweig and founded the ITD in 2007. Since October 2018 he has been the scientific director of the Institute for Future Studies and Technology Assessment (IZT).

Rammler is co-editor of the series “Mobility and Society” at Lit Verlag .
