Intel Developer Forum

Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco, Fall 2007.

The Intel Developer Forum ( IDF ) was a gathering of technologists to discuss Intel products as well as products based on Intel hardware. The first IDF was held in 1997, the last in 2016. As a rule, an IDF was held in spring and autumn.

To underline the importance of China , the IDF was held in Beijing in spring 2007 instead of San Francisco . The fall event was split between San Francisco and Taipei in September and October 2007, respectively. Three IDFs were planned for 2008, with notably the event in San Francisco being postponed to August. In previous years, the event has been held in major cities such as San Francisco, Mumbai , Bangalore , Moscow , Cairo , São Paulo and Tokyo .

In April 2017, Intel canceled the IDF17, which would take place in San Francisco from August 15 to 17, and does not want to hold comprehensive developer conferences in the future either. The IDF in San Francisco in August 2016 was the last of its kind.
