International Correspondence Institute
The International Correspondence Institute ( ICI ), now renamed Global University , is a non-governmental, Pentecostal university from the USA for distance learning, which was established in 1967 as a branch of the " Assemblies of God " in the USA.
Theological foundations
In the Global University is Evangelikalische theology of Pentecostalism (Pentecostalism) offered. The Bible is set absolutely as God's word and z. B. Rejected sex outside of a marital male-female relationship. Students who do not submit to these principles are subject to disciplinary measures up to and including expulsion from the university.
distribution
In the last 30 years the work of ICI has expanded rapidly, so that today there are ICI offices in more than 180 countries. They look after around 10,000 college students around the world who are aiming for a degree, but also thousands of participants in individual courses. The head office has been located in Springfield , Missouri (USA) since May 2000 .
Situation in Germany
The German study center has been located in Worms since the merger with the BFU Theological Distance School in 2014 . Bachelor programs can be completed in German and the master’s programs in English. While the BFU is certified, the ICI is only recognized by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), Washington, DC.
