Juan Armet de Castellví , in Catalan Joan Armet de Castellví , (born June 30, 1895 in Terrassa , † October 5, 1956 in Madrid ) was a Spanish football player and coach .

Career as a player

Juan Armet made his debut as a professional soccer player in 1911 at Universitary SC . After five seasons he went to Espanyol Barcelona in 1916 , but moved to Sevilla FC after only one year . He stayed there for ten years and ended his career as a player in 1927.

Career as a coach

As a player at Sevilla FC, he began his coaching career in 1920, while at the same time overseeing Valencia FC for one season. After ending his playing career at Sevilla FC in 1927, he directed the fortunes of city rivals Betis Sevilla for three years . After this engagement, he was only again in 1934 coach of FC Cádiz for a year . In 1940 he was signed by Real Murcia , from where he made the leap to the capital to Real Madrid after just one year . He stayed there until 1943 and ended his coaching career after a season with CE Sabadell in 1944.
