The International School Mainfranken (ISM) is an international school founded in Grafenrheinfeld in 2006 , based in Unterspiesheim from the 2010/2011 school year and in Schweinfurt from the 2016/2017 school year .

Grades 1 to 12 are taught at the school. The ISM is mainly financed through school fees, partly through state subsidies and donations from the private sector. The language of instruction is English. Classes 1 to 4 are recognized by the government of Lower Franconia as a state-approved substitute school.

The following subjects are taught on the basis of the globally recognized Cambridge Secondary 1 curriculum: English, German as a mother tongue or German as a second language, history and geography, mathematics, natural sciences, music, art, sports and Spanish. After the 10th grade, the intermediate maturity is attainable via the IGCSE degree.

The school also enables the internationally recognized IB-DP school leaving certificate . The head of the school has been Michael Gündert since April 2018, who has been looking after the Abitur classes for years. 19 different nations currently teach and learn in the school.

On January 27, 2016, the school announced that it would move to a former US Army High School in Schweinfurt in the 2016/17 school year in Yorktown Village / Kessler Field , where lessons began in autumn 2016.

School language

The language of instruction in all subjects is English (with the exception of languages ​​such as German or Spanish). If there is no knowledge, appropriate advanced courses are offered. This also enables the transfer from any grade.
