Internacia Pedagogia Revuo , the body of the Esperanto Teachers Association.

The International Association of Esperanto Teachers (in Esperanto: Internacia Ligo de Esperantistaj Instruistoj , abbreviation: ILEI ) is a global professional association of teachers of the planned language Esperanto based in Rotterdam . The year of foundation was 1949.

history

ILEI was founded in Bournemouth on August 12, 1949 . Before the Second World War there was already a predecessor association called Tutmonda Asocio de Esperantistaj Instruistoj (the year it was founded here was 1908).

The first board of directors (1949) consisted of the English president Violet C. Nixon, the Swedish treasurer and secretary Einar Dahl, the French Jeanne Dedieu and the Dutch P. Korte.

goals and tasks

  • Aims:
    • Education for the appreciation of one's neighbor and respect for life and nature.
    • Improvement of international understanding.
  • Tasks:
    • Offering Esperanto in schools of all kinds.
    • Targeted teaching of Esperanto in any environment and at all levels.
    • Research into pedagogical problems in language teaching and provision of assistance.
    • Publication of modern teaching materials, specialist magazines, books and information materials.
    • Implementation of international meetings (ILEI congresses, seminars, etc.).
    • Administration of international exams for the ability to use and teach Esperanto.
    • Establishing contacts with governments and educational institutions, possibly with other organizations with similar objectives.
    • Establishing and managing homepages and discussion forums on the Internet.

Board

The board leads the association, after the election by the highest authority, the Komitato .
