International badminton tournament in Tröbitz 1962

The international badminton tournament in Tröbitz 1962 took place as a New Year's tournament from January 6th to 7th, 1962 in the Glückauf sports hall in Tröbitz . It was the first edition of this tournament series. This premiere with the participation of the reigning unofficial world champion Erland Kops was partly recorded by GDR television. The finals were relocated from the Glückauf sports hall to the nearby cultural center for reasons of audience capacity.
