The International Folklore Festival Lausitz , Upper Sorbian Mjezynarodny folklorny festiwal Łužica ? / i , has been a summer folklore festival in Lusatia that has taken place every two years since 1995 . It takes place in the towns of Crostwitz , Bautzen and Drachhausen every four days from Thursday to Sunday and has around 10,000 visitors. Audio file / audio sample

It is organized by a Domowina preparatory committee .

The festival usually starts on Thursday evening with a parade through Bautzen and the opening ceremony. On Saturday there will be music and dance performances in Crostwitz on traditionally and festively decorated farms with various international folklore groups. On Sunday there is a multilingual festival service in Crostwitz, followed by a parade of the participants through the town.

In addition, there is a market for traditional crafts and international specialties.

Contributors

In addition to dance and folklore groups from the Lausitz Sorbs , ensembles from all over the world come to Lausitz during the festival. Particular attention is paid to the participation of representatives of ethnic groups and minorities.

In addition to numerous dancers, singers and instrumentalists as well as groups from Lusatia, folklore ensembles and dance groups from the following countries have participated so far:
