Hermesdorf is a part of the local community Wißmannsdorf in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Hermesdorf lies in the valley of the Prüm , which flows past on the eastern edge of the village. The Hermesdorfer Graben and the Bergbach flow into the Prüm in the immediate vicinity of the village. The L 7 and L 9 run through the town. Neighboring towns are Wiersdorf in the north, Rittersdorf in the east, Wißmannsdorf in the south and Koosbüsch in the west .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1103. A chapel is documented for 1713. Until the French occupation , the village belonged to the then Luxembourg rule of Hamm .
On June 10, 1979, the previously independent community of Hermesdorf with 310 inhabitants at the time was merged with the community of Wißmannsdorf to form the new local community of Wißmannsdorf.
