coat of arms
Blazon : "Under a black shield head with rafter beams in silver, split, in front in silver a growing red castle tower with a golden gate, in the back divided five times by gold and red." | |
Foundation of the coat of arms: Rittersdorf was the seat of the communities that formed the "Rittersdorf Rulership". The governors of this rule were the Counts of Manderscheid-Blankenheim until 1780. They had a silver rafter in black in the coat of arms. He returns in the shield head.
In the lower, split shield, a growing castle tower is shown in front. King Rudolph von Habsburg gives permission to build a tower in 1290. This tower is the almost 700 year old, mighty keep that is still preserved today. The von Enscheringen family owned the castle complex for centuries. Your coat of arms is divided seven times by gold and red in the shield base. It returns here, divided into five because of the shield head, next to the castle tower. |
