Blazon : "Under the red shield head, in it three silver nailed crosses, in silver turned obliquely to the left upwards a black bow with a blue arrow laid out."
Foundation of the coat of arms: Until the end of the feudal period, Birtlingen belonged to Bitburg in the Duchy of Luxembourg. The old seal of the provost's office shows a multi-towered castle to which crosses and stars were later added. As a former part of the Propstei, the nail-pointed cross of the Propstei's coat of arms was reproduced in the shield head. Saint Sebastian is venerated as a chapel and site patron and carries arrows and bows as an attribute.
