history

Since the late Middle Ages, the now Luxembourgish place belonged partly to the Bettingen rule and partly to the Neuerburg rule . In 1794 French revolutionary troops occupied the Austrian Netherlands , to which the Duchy of Luxembourg belonged, and annexed it in October 1795 . From 1795 to 1814 Baustert belonged to the canton of Neuerburg in the department of forests . Baustert became the capital of a mairie . After the region was taken over by the Kingdom of Prussia (1815), Baustert became the administrative seat of the mayor's office of the same name in the Bitburg district .

Blazon : "Shield divided in the middle, upper half in blue with a golden crown, lower half in silver with a black star." | |
Justification for the coat of arms: The colors silver and blue as well as the golden crown of counts (aristocratic crown) stand for the affiliation of the place to Luxembourg from the 12th century, while the 6-pointed star indicates the original affiliation to the Trier Abbey of St. Maximin . The local council approved the coat of arms on May 6, 1977. |
