Etteldorf in der Eifel is a municipality in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate . It has been part of the Bitburger Land community since July 1, 2014 .

Etteldorf was first mentioned in 893 in the Prümer Urbar as Ettellendorpht . In the 14th century originated in the Electorate of Trier , the Office Kyllburg , was one of the Etteldorf. In the Trier fire book of 1563 two fireplaces (households) are recorded for the "Hof Etteldorf", in 1684 only one fireplace. The Kurtrierische sovereignty existed until the end of the 18th century.

In 1794 French revolutionary troops occupied the left bank of the Rhine . Under French administration , Etteldorf was assigned to the canton of Kyllburg in 1798 , which was part of the Prüm arrondissement in the Saardepartement .
