Trimport is located in the German part of the Gutland . Trimport also includes the Teitelbach residential area .

history

Grave finds and remains of settlements suggest that the area was settled in Roman times . The village in the Prümer Urbar was first mentioned in a document in 893 as Trimparden . Trimport was a fiefdom of the Counts of Vianden until the 15th century . The place was later under Luxembourg sovereignty. After the French annexation in 1794/95, Trimport came to Mairie Meckel , the later mayor of Meckel under Prussian rule. In the later 19th century, the mayor's office was initially merged with Idenheim and then with the Bitburg-Land mayor's office. Since 1970 Trimport has belonged to the then newly formed Verbandsgemeinde Bitburg-Land and from July 1, 2014 to the Verbandsgemeinde Bitburger Land .
