The Verbandsgemeinde Bitburg-Land was an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional authority in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate . The Verbandsgemeinde included 51 independent local congregations . The administrative seat was in the city of Bitburg , which however did not belong to the association itself.
In terms of the number of parishes it belonged to, it was the largest association parish in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The Verbandsgemeinde Bitburg-Land was dissolved on July 1, 2014, the associated municipalities were assigned to the new Verbandsgemeinde Bitburger Land together with the municipalities of the former Verbandsgemeinde Kyllburg .

history
The Verbandsgemeinde was created with the state law on administrative simplification of November 7, 1970 through the merger of the former offices of Bickendorf and Bitburg-Land and parts of the offices of Dudeldorf , Oberweis and Wolsfeld .
The Verbandsgemeinde Bitburg-Land was dissolved on July 1, 2014, and the communities were assigned to the new Verbandsgemeinde Bitburger Land .

coat of arms
The blazon reads: “Shield bordered in silver. In the golden head of the shield there is a red, five-legged bar, underneath in blue, a golden anchor cross divided into four angles. "
The former Trier district government approved the coat of arms on June 15, 1972. The silver border in the coat of arms is reserved for the municipalities according to a decree of the Interior Ministry.
