Hisel is a part of the local community Brimingen in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .
Geographical location
Hisel is located west of Bitburg not far from the B 50 . The largest part of the district is used for agriculture, 7 hectares of forest belong to the place.
history
The place is first mentioned in 786/787 as Hoensal . Until the end of the 18th century it belonged to the rulership of Neuerburg in the Duchy of Luxembourg ( Vianden quarter ) before it went to Prussia in 1815 and was administered by the mayor's office of Baustert .
Hisel had reached a peak in 1939 with 42 inhabitants, since then the number of inhabitants has continued to decline; In 1970 39 people lived here.
With ten inhabitants in 2016, Hisel was the smallest village in the Eifel district. It was in second place among the smallest municipalities in Germany in terms of population . The local parishes of Brimingen and Hisel agreed to merge on January 1, 2018, Hisel was thus incorporated into the local parish of Brimingen.

Attractions
The oldest preserved house in Hisel, which was built in 1772, is particularly worth seeing. There are also a number of crossroads in the area.
economy
In 2005, five Enercon E-40 / 6.44 wind turbines (rotor diameter 40 m) with a nominal output of 600 kW each were developed by Net Service GmbH in the Hisel ( ⊙ ) wind farm and put into operation by Thewindpower.
