The Interstate 605 (also San Gabriel River Freeway or short I-605 ) is an Interstate Highway in the metropolitan Los Angeles in southwest California , USA . The road is approximately 44 km (27  miles ) long and runs in a north-south direction from Irwindale in the north to Seal Beach in the south.

Most of the interstate is in Los Angeles County , with a section in Orange County and running almost parallel to the San Gabriel River . Due to the high volume of traffic it is eight over their entire length to ten lanes .
