history

The land was originally owned by the San Gabriel Mission. After secularization , the area of ​​today's Baldwin Park belonged to two ranchos, the Rancho Azusa de Dalton and the Rancho La Puente. Around 1860, an agricultural settlement called Pleasant View began to form north of what is now Baldwin Park. The place changed its name to Vineland in 1880. In 1906 the residents agreed with Elias Jackson Baldwin that he would renounce the establishment of "Baldwinville" and that the place would take the name Baldwin Park. In 1956 Baldwin Park was promoted to city.

In 1948 the first restaurant of the fast food chain In-N-Out Burger opened in Baldwin Park . The original restaurant was torn down, but today there is a replica of the original restaurant.
