Industry is a city in Los Angeles County in the US state of California , United States . The city is strongly industrialized; The place has 219 inhabitants (as of 2010), but there are 80,000 jobs and 2500 resident companies. Industry is a suburb of Los Angeles .

The development plan of Industry geared primarily to companies and shops; the few houses existed before the city was founded.

Industry is funded primarily by sales tax from the local malls and property taxes , which is why Industry in Los Angeles County has the highest property tax rate of any city at 1.92%. The companies do not have to pay any trade tax.

The city is a well-known investment area for Chinese entrepreneurs . Many of them live in the nearby towns of Rowland Heights , Hacienda Heights , West Covina , Diamond Bar and Walnut . As an import and export center for computer parts , Industry maintains connections with the Asian market.

To the north is the Pacific Palms Resort hotel and a golf course. This area is almost completely enclosed by the city of La Puente .

The Los Angeles Stadium is to be built in Industry .
