Into ( Finnish for enthusiasm ) is the fourth studio album by the Finnish dark rock band The Rasmus , and the first studio album to be called The Rasmus . Before that, they simply called themselves Rasmus . It was recorded in Stockholm from May to December 2000 and released on October 29, 2001 on Playground Music.

history

In 2000 Rasmus changed their name to The Rasmus after the drummer Janne Heiskanen swapped places with Aki Hakala. In 2001 The Rasmus signed a record deal with Playground Music Scandinavia. Seppo Vesterinen became her new manager. The band released Into in Finland where it went double platinum and topped the charts. It was the first album produced by Mikael Nord Anderson and Martin Hansen at Nord Studios in Stockholm. FFF-Falling was released as the first single and reached number 1 in Finland. The second single, Chill , reached number 2 in Finland. Into was also published in other European countries, for example Germany , Sweden , Norway , Italy , France and Spain .

Special edition

The special edition of Into was published on November 5, 2003 at Playground Music Scandinavia / Edel Music. In addition to the 10 original tracks, there are four bonus tracks and the video for FFF Falling on the album. It has a 24-page booklet with new photos of the band. The special edition is in black and white and not in orange like the original.

Singles

FFF falling

FFF Falling was released on April 2, 2001 as the first single on the album. The single also has a video showing the band at work. FFF-Falling reached number 1 in the Finnish single charts for seven weeks.

Madness

Madness is the third single from the album. It was released on September 3, 2001. The B-sides on the single are Play Dead (Originally by Bjork ) and Used to Feel Before (Originally by Kingston Wall ). The video for Chill is also included. She reached number 2 in the Finnish single charts.

Heartbreaker

Heartbreaker , released March 11, 2002, is the fourth single from the album. "Heartbreaker" debuted at number 2 in Finland and topped the charts a week later. The song is about a real girl who has lost control of her life. In addition to Days , the single features two remixes by Heartbreaker ( Rock Radio Remix & Pop Radio Remix ).

Music videos

FFF falling

The first video from Into was FFF Falling . In the video, The Rasmus members wear some type of beach clothes and play in a recording studio. The video is about a girl who meets her girlfriend at the train station. The girls spend a lot of time together, listening to music and having fun on the bus. They get more and more exuberant and change their clothes, dance all over the place and kiss in a car. Then the two girls sleep together and the next day a girl regrets what she did. The band watches them in a few situations.

Chill

The second video, Chill, shows the band on a bus taking photos and playing acoustic instruments. In this video you can clearly see Lauri Ylönen singing. The video also shows some photos and mini videos of the band on the street.

Awards

The Rasmus won four EMMAs (the Finnish Grammy) for Best Group , Best Album , Best Pop / Rock Album and Best Song (for FFF Falling ) in 2002 with the album .
