Ion Caramalău (* 1956 ; † February 19, 2010 in Constanța ) was a Romanian football player .

Athletic career

Caramalău played for FC Constanța in Divizia A and Divizia B in the early 1980s . In total, the defender played 51 first division games for the club. In 1986 he left the club and joined the then second division CFR Paşcani , for whom he was active for three years until his career at the age of 33. The greatest success was the quarter-finals in the Cupa României in the season 1987/88, when the team failed only at the first division club AS Victoria Bucharest .

Caramalău died in early 2010 at the age of 53 years a cancer .
