Kurt Förster (politician)

Kurt Förster (born October 21, 1913 in Berlin ; † October 18, 2000 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Kurt Förster attended an elementary school and then a vocational school . He did an apprenticeship as a carpenter and in 1930 joined the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ), the SPD and the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold . In 1939 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht .

After the Second World War , Förster started working as a carpenter again in 1945 and was elected to the District Assembly (BVV) in the Tiergarten district in the Berlin election in 1948 . In 1965 he became a building controller in the Kreuzberg district office . In the 1967 election he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, to which he was a member until 1971.
