Ion Costea ( April 12, 1912 - June 2, 2013 ) was a Romanian football player and coach.

Athletic career

Costea made her debut for CFR Bucharest in Divizia A in September 1935 . Until 1948 he ran for the team in the top division and won with her - after the renaming in Rapid - between 1938 and 1942 five times in a row the Cupa României , he was also runner-up with her in 1938, 1940 and 1941.

After his career, Costea stayed with the club as a ticket seller and coach, he worked for Rapid Bucharest for a total of 72 years. He had trained the foundation of the team that won the championship title for Rapid for the first time in the club's history at the end of the 1966/67 season . These include players like Dan Coe , Alexandru Neagu and Ion Dumitru .
