Ionela Loaieș

Ionela Loaieş (born February 1, 1979 in Comăneşti ) is a former Romanian artistic gymnast .

She started gymnastics at the CSS Oneşti at the age of six. In 1994 Loaieș took part in the World Championships for the first time . In Dortmund she became world champion with the Romanian team with Simona Amânar , Gina Gogean , Nadia Hatagan , Daniela Mărănducă , Lavinia Miloșovici and Claudia Presăcan .

Her second major success came at the 1996 Olympic Games . In Atlanta, she won the bronze medal with the Romanian team behind the USA and Russia. In addition, Loaieş started in the individual all-around, in floor exercise, in horse jumping, on the balance beam and on the uneven bars, but could not reach a final.
